I have chosen to subscribe to NEO because I find it to be a good tool for quickly finishing well exposed raw images out of camera for events. Do you have a need for it?, and do you use it?

I think that you have identified the reason for buying or subscribing to any piece of software. My summary of the whole suite: a collection of half-baked, mostly mediocre tools, all of which have better equivalents elsewhere.Īs a result, I hardly ever use it, and doubt that I'll renew when my subscription runs out. Even the absurdly delayed, and then hyped Clone tool is pathetically inadequate. The object removal tool demonstrates well, but isn't quite so great in real world use. Perhaps the sky replacement is a bit better, but that's not something I like doing. Most of the other extensions have better equivalents in Affinity. For example, the de-noise and sharpen extensions aren't remotely as good as the Topaz equivalents. Unfortunately, I'm not impressed with the extensions, most of which are either of no relevance to me, or second-rate. So, I have the latest version of the whole suite. I bought during the sale, so the validity was extended. I bought the base Neo product lifetime licence, and then the full extensions rental subscription. Still cheaper than what we used to pay to keep PS updated every 12-18 months It requires constant updates to both the software and the databases that drive them.Īt the current rate it's approaching the Adobe Photographers subscription plan. The costs of AI driven products is expensive. The extensions are really very good but with all software it depends upon whether or not you use it.
